Understanding 3D Shapes – My Cuboid Model for Classroom Teaching

As part of my B.Ed. coursework, I recently created a model on Cuboid, one of the basic three-dimensional geometric shapes taught at the elementary level. This hands-on model is not only a visual aid but also a powerful tool to help students understand the properties of 3D shapes in a fun and interactive way. What is a Cuboid? A cuboid is a 3D shape with six rectangular faces. It has: 6 faces 12 edges 8 vertices All the angles in a cuboid are right angles, and opposite faces are equal. Everyday examples of cuboids include books, bricks, and boxes. Materials Used for My Model: Cardboard sheets Color papers Fevicol/glue Scissors Black marker for labeling I used bright colors to cover each face of the cuboid to make it more engaging for students. I also labeled the edges, faces, and vertices for better understanding. Educational Purpose: This model helps students: Visualize 3D shapes Learn the difference between 2D and 3D figures Understand terms like faces, edges, and vertices Identify cu...
